The Prayers of the People
In the silence after each bidding, the people may offer their own prayers, either silently or aloud.I ask your prayers for God's people throughout the world; for the Anglican Communion, for the Episcopal Church, for Katherine our Primate and for Orris our Bishop; in the Diocese of Long Island, we pray for St. Barnabas’, Brooklyn; St. Bartholomew’s, Brooklyn; St. Gabriel’s, Brooklyn; St. George’s, Brooklyn; St. John’s. Fort Hamilton, Brooklyn; St. John’s, Park Slope, Brooklyn and the Diocesan Ecumenical Commission; we pray for this parish of St. John’s and for all of our people. Let us Pray for the Church.

I ask your prayers for peace and goodwill among all nations; and for the well-being of all people. Let us pray for our President, our Governor, our Mayor and for the candidates for President of our nation. Let us pray for Peace with Justice and Mercy throughout the world, and especially for peace in Georgia, in Kashmir, in Burma, and in Darfur. We continue our prayers today for our own troops serving in places of great danger and especially Christopher Yeh, US Marines, Lt. Col. Andrew Cox, US Air Force, and David Smikle, US Navy, who serve in Iraq; Joseph Moesel, who serves with the British Army on the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. Let us pray for peace and an end to war.
